John and Gleniss Lawrence of Lawrence's IGA Canowindra, along with family and staff, are very happy to be able to donate $5711.34 to the Canowindra Soldiers Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Part of the money that was donated came from the amount of IGA products that was bought by their customers from their supermarket.
The other larger amount came from customers that chose to generously donate their Loyalty Points to Community Chest which for 2006 was the Hospital Ladies Auxiliary
Lawrence's IGA run a Loyalty Points program within their supermarket. Customers that sign up for Loyalty Points may choose for their points to be accumulated for their own redemption or for those points to go to Community Chest.
For every $1 that is bought 1 cent is accumulated to the customers Loyalty Points number.
At the end of each year these points can be redeemed. Some customers were able to redeem hundreds of dollars of free groceries for themselves or this amount was paid by Lawrence's IGA to the Community Chest (Hospital Ladies Auxiliary) if the customer chose for their Loyalty points to go to Community Chest.
All people shopping at IGA contribute to Community Chest by
people buying IGA products. As so much money from IGA products sold also goes to Community
Chest.
Over the years Community Chest has helped many projects within the Community.
Some like the Helipad, CWA and Local Schools. For 2007, Lawrence's IGA have chosen the Apex Skate Park as their beneficiary for Community Chest.
John and Gleniss would like to thank their valued customers in helping to make Community Chest so successful and hope that the Canowindra Hospital Ladies Auxiliary may use this donation to help buy items for the hospital that will benefit and help many people within our community.
They would also like to thank Erin Sargent for all her help in running the Community Chest program and welcome any new customers to their Loyalty Points Program.
The Hospital Ladies Auxiliary were very grateful and thanked John and Gleniss for their generous donation.
Without support such as this the Auxiliary would find it difficult to raise funds for the local
hospital.
