Anzac Spirit strong in Canowindra

30 Apr, 2008 08:01 AM
Anzac day holds special meaning to everyone and people were out in force last Friday, showing their respect and honour for those that served and died to protect our country.

More than 150 people attended the Dawn Service and 400 people gathered in the street to watch the march.

President of the Canowindra RSL Sub Branch Brad Starr was delighted with the turn out and after talking with people feels the attendance was up on last year.

“It was fantastic to see so many people. I really want to thank everyone that was involved.”

The 2008 leaflets that were handed out amongst people were redesigned especially for this year. “A big thank you to the people involved in re-creating the program, I know a lot of time and effort went into it,” Mr Starr said.

People from all walks of life came together and the mass of people just highlights how important Anzac Day is and what is means for Australians everywhere.
