Nick Jacobs and Rob Rogan paid tribute to their team effort, thanking their staff for their hard work, energy and service, and their customers, for the support they give the business.
That support was obvious, Cabonne Council Economic Development manager Gretchen Armitage said, from The Canowindra Trading Post's portfolio and nomination, paying tribute to Nick and Rob's dedication to their work.
"It is already an excellent business, but Nick & Rob continue to grow the business, and profile the local community as well as the Canowindra Trading Post," Ms Armitage said.
Business Enterprise Centre Executive Officer Bruce Buchanan said it has been so exciting to see the growth in businesses over the past seven years of the awards.
"These are not a popular vote awards, there are criteria and businesses need to focus on their successes and strategies over the past 12 months and sell their business to the judges," Mr Buchanan said.
"What a privilege it has been to see the way businesses have managed change, drought, the floods late last year and community needs within their enterprise over the past seven years of these awards.
"I really am so pleased I am not a judge. To try and distinguish between many of these businesses is very tough indeed."
All finalists put together an excellent submission, which was assessed by a panel of judges who took into account the Customer Nomination Sheet, Business Portfolio and mystery customer report for service based enterprises.
"It is one thing to write about it...it's another thing to deliver it on a daily basis, and I can tell you in all honesty, anyone of our Daroo nominees could have been a winner," Mr Buchanan said.
"Our village communities and towns have many excellent businesses, who despite competition, drought, an aging population and other factors continue to provide a first class range of services to their respective communities."
This year's awards were held in Canowindra, where the first awards were held seven years ago.
"It has been a real highlight to see the extent that each community puts into hosting the Daroo Awards when it comes to their community," Mr Buchanan said. Past communities to have hosted the awards are Canowindra, Molong, Cudal, Yeoval, Eugowra, Manildra and then Canowindra again this year.
The committee calls for expressions of interest from communities within Cabonne Shire each year to host the awards and will once again be asking for a host for
2007.
