Barbeques and pool parties

18 Jan, 2012 07:53 AM
The focus will be on Aussie entertainment, barbecues and poolside fun when Australia Day activities are held throughout Cabonne Shire later this month.

Pool parties will be the theme when Cabonne Australia Day ambassador actor Henri Szeps and the official party visit ceremonies in Cudal, Manildra and Yeoval on Thursday 26 January 2012.

Australia Day will also be celebrated in Mullion Creek, Cumnock, Cargo, Canowindra, Molong and Eugowra with activities ranging from Aussie breakfasts to prayer services and flag raising ceremonies.

Mr Szeps, a veteran stage, screen and television performer best known for his role as the “other son” in Australian comedy series Mother and Son, will be accompanied by Cabonne youth ambassador Jamahl Wright and Mayor Bob Dowling.

Musical entertainment, novelty events and a barbecue will be the highlights of activities at Cudal from 10am to 2pm.

The official party will arrive at noon for the presentation of the Australia Day awards before travelling to Manildra at 4.30pm where a kids disco, novelty events and a barbecue will be running from 4pm to 8pm.

Celebrations will wrap up from 7pm with award presentations and another pool party at Yeoval.
