Bendy Street group working hard for community benefit

28 Jan, 2009 08:29 AM
Whilst meetings were paused for a month the Bendy Street Group has been still working hard.

Following a professional presentation to Cabonne Council in December, representatives of the group have since had separate meetings and town walk throughs with Graeme Fleming – Cabonne Councils General Manager, and Mayor Kevin Duffy.

Both have been full of praise for the groups professionalism, community mindedness and broad spectrum of projects.

Due to Canowindra not having a progress association, the Bendy Street Group has dropped “business” from its title (but not its focus), and now represents Canowindra on these issues as well.

The groups overall portfolio now consists of business, council, historical, social, sporting, and community projects and would love to work closely with all relevant groups.

We do not wish to take over the roles of any existing group, we are a support mechanism for these groups and would like to assist with their relevant projects and events.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the Bendy Street Group, it is open to all businesses and relevant bodies within Canowindra and surrounds who deem Canowindra to be their base.

Our first meeting for 2009 will be at the Royal Hotel on January 28 at 7pm. For further information please call Troy Kelly on 02 63442515.
