This weekend though, they have the chance to again watch the big screen and see some of Australia’s leading film talent in their own regional backyard.
Renowned short film festival Flickerfest will end its two month tour at local vineyard Rosnay, with its Best Of Australian Shorts Programme.
The Best of Australian Shorts Programme features recent multi-award winning Franswa Sharl, Oscar® nominated Miracle Fish, and crowd-pleaser Celestial Avenue, winner of the Flickerfest Madman Award for Best Australian Short Film.
Sam Statham, Rosnay, pointed out this is a chance to see an Oscar nominated Australia film, literally in a local backyard.
Miracle Fish has its own miracle - local boy William Ward, of the Ward family at nearby Swinging Bridge vineyard, worked on its sound production.
One of the highlights screening on Saturday night, Franswa Sharl, won a top prize at the Berlinale – the Crystal Bear for the Best Short Film, continuing it’s runaway success after winning the IF Media Award for most Popular Film at Flickerfest 2010.
Other highlights screening in this programme include Celestial Avenue – winner of the Madman Award for Best Australian Short Film at Flickerfest 2010, and IF Award-winning Ralph, directed by much loved Australian actress Deborah Mailman.
The movie program will screen under the stars on the front garden of Rosnay. Movie goers can either BYO picnic on the ground, or share an organic lamb curry.
The event is being screened by Pics in the Sticks, on their big outdoor inflatable screen which will hang from a large gum perfectly located on the edge of the lawn.
Flickerfest will visit Rosnay, eight km from Canowindra on the Rivers Rd, on Saturday, March 27.
