On Saturday, 10 March 2007 at 2pm, the Director General of the NSW State Emergency Service (SES), Brigadier Philip McNamara will officially open new extensions to the Eugowra SES Headquarters located in Noble Street Eugowra (near the Showground).
The Eugowra SES Unit is accommodated in a purpose-built Headquarters originally constructed and opened in mid 1995.
In late 2006 and early 2007 major extensions were completed to the SES Headquarters building to provide more room.
These extensions to the SES Headquarters also provide a home for the Honorary Ambulance Officers (volunteers) and the only Ambulance vehicle in Eugowra.
The extensions provide a larger and better equipped Headquarters for the Eugowra SES Unit in which the volunteers can manage future flood and storm events and conduct training.
The extensions also benefit the community by providing a base for which volunteer Ambulance Officers in Eugowra can work and train from allowing them to securely store their equipment and vehicle.
Eugowra SES Unit Controller Greg Agustin will also be handed at the opening keys to the Eugowra SES Unit's new rescue vehicle by the Director General.
The Director General will also present one volunteer from the Eugowra SES Unit (Bob O'Neill) and two volunteers from the Canowindra SES Unit (Geoff Harris and Ken Thurtell) with their SES 10-Year Long Service Medals.
The FloodSafe brochure recently produced by the SES for peo ple living in the town of Eugowra will also be launched at the opening.
