Canowindra cricket sponsorship

20 Feb, 2001 04:23 PM
Canowindra Cricket Club has been successful in gaining a sponsorship deal with the Canowindra Services and Citizens Club.

The sponsorship is over a three-year period, to the March 2003 season.

Since the Canowindra Cricket Club reformed two seasons ago, the Services Club has had a very good working relationship.

The sponsorship will enable the Cricket Club to be in a position to purchase coaching aids such as a slip catching machine and a bowling machine in the near future.

These machines will aid Canowindra Cricket Club to develop its juniors to higher skill levels at an earlier age and also aid senior cricketers to work on any problems they have in batting or catching.

It will enable cricketers to fine tune their talents and make them more confident cricketers in the future.

This doesnChr(39)t mean the Club has to sit back - we still have to raise money ourselves.

One way has been to deliver phone books in the area and this has been very successful, with only a few minor hiccups, but that is expected when doing a major job, as it was the first time.

We now have new equipment for both grades and the juniors have also been gradually building up their supplies of equipment.

We should be very proud of our cricketers, from the Under 10s right through to A Grade.

They are very competitive in the Cowra competition and this is a credit to the Canowindra district for the high standard all teams have reached.
