Central NSW Tourism calls for new directors

01 Feb, 2012 07:52 AM
Would you like the chance to be involved in marketing and promoting the wider Central West to more visitors?

Central NSW Tourism (CNSWT) is calling for applications for Directors on the Central NSW Tourism board.

CNSWT is the region’s tourism body and is a membership based, incorporated association.

It facilitates and co-ordinates tourism industry development and marketing activities for the Central region of NSW.

The role of a director is focused on setting the strategic direction of the organisation for the benefit of the region.

The catch is the position is voluntary, however, a nominal amount is paid per meeting to compensate for travelling, and when appropriate, accommodation costs.

“Being a board member with Central NSW Tourism is a wonderful learning experience,” said Carissa Bywater, CNSW Interim Chair.

“The board is very cohesive and is committed to achieving outcomes for the organisation and the region.

“A positive and collaborative mindset is a must.”

While knowledge of local government, tourism and marketing/media is considered favourable, CNSWT are looking for applicants with a wide range of skills from various industries.

If you are enthusiastic, a strategic thinker with strong planning and leadership skills and an interest in promoting the region’s attractions to visitors, this could be the position for you.

For more information or to receive an information pack, contact Executive Officer Lisa Ditchfield, on 0448 379 273, or email info@centralnswtourism.com.au.

Applications close at 5pm on February 13.
