Competition brings Christmas to life on our streets

22 Nov, 2006 08:01 AM
Have you realised that Christmas is only five weeks away?

The Canowindra Trading Post's Rob Rogan and Nick Jacobs haven't forgotten.

The Canowindra Trading Post's windows are already glowing with Christmas lights and decorations are glittering throughout its rooms, as Rob and Nick start preparing for their annual Christmas Decoration Competition.

Since its beginning several years ago, the Canowindra Trading Post's annual competition has inspired some fantastic Christmas scenes on the streets and the homes of Canowindra.

There's been trains, motorbikes, inflatable santas, real size sleighs and a host of other imaginative ideas that have captured the attention and helped foster a community spirit, making Canowindra a little bit 'sparklier' for Christmas.

Once again, the competition will be hosted this year, and remember, the emphasis is not on the most lights, but on the most creative display.

Fill in your details below, or pick up an entry form at the Canowindra Trading Post and return it completed to the Canowindra Trading Post by 5pm, Monday, December 11.

A list of all entries will be published in the Canowindra News on Wednesday, December 13 so you too can spend an evening picking your favourites.

See if your choice matches up with the judges, Dr Kumar and Dr O'Ryan, who will be judging on Sunday night, December 17.

The first prize is a $300 voucher to spend at the Canowindra Trading Post, and second prize, $100 voucher.

The winner will be announced in the Canowindra News on Wednesday, December 20.

Your creative decoration efforts might earn you an extra present from Santa and the Canowindra Trading Post!
