Suitably qualified people are being asked to nominate for a position on the Cabonne Country Tourism Advisory Committee for the next 12 months. The Committee’s role will be to further develop Cabonne’s tourism industry and will be made up of people with skills and experience in areas such as marketing, promotion, event management, research and grant writing.
Cabonne Council’s Economic Development Officer Sharon D’Elboux said the advisory committee would have input into the Council’s Tourism Plan and play a key role in developing the potential of tourism in Cabonne.
“Among the Committee’s objectives will be to help assess infrastructure and how it can be improved; identify target markets; investigate partnerships and alliances that can boost the industry; and identify trends that can increase the number of visitors to the area,” she said.
A minimum of seven people will be appointed to the Advisory Committee for a one-year period.
Ms D’Elboux said anyone applying for a position on the Committee should complete an application form and lodge it with Cabonne Council by Friday September 3.
Further information and application forms can be obtained by contacting Ms D’Elboux or Council’s Promotion and Tourism Officer Glenn Mickle on 6392 3200.
