Farmers, country music enthusiasts and families from across the central west are expected to converge on the nearby town of Grenfell later this month when some of the country's leading entertainers
provide a free concert just for them.
Country music legend Lee Kernaghan heads an impressive line-up of performers who will rock the Lawson Oval in Grenfell on Saturday, June 30 in a free concert to give drought affected communities a break.
The brainchild of Lee Kernaghan, and supported by the state government, the free concert is not a fundraiser, but is a show of support and a welcome break for farmers and regional communities going through tough times due to the drought.
Other stars to perform include Adam Brand, Leo Sayer, Diesel, Steve Forde, Tania Kernaghan and The McClymonts.
Concert entry is free with a special wristband, which are limited.
Entry wristbands for regional New South Wales's free Spirit of the Bush Drought Concert will be available for collection on Monday, June 11, from various Woolworths' stores around the region.
To avoid disappointment people should collect their wristbands as soon as possible.
A limit of six wristbands per person/family applies. You must have a wristband to be allowed entry to the concert. Wristbands are limited in numbers. We ask that people do not request any more wristbands than they will definitely use in order for as many people as possible to come along to the concert.
Aside form Woolworths supermarkets, the only other outlet is in Grenfell where the collection point is the Council Chambers. Grenfell wristbands will be available from Tuesday, 12 June at Council Chambers.
Gates will open at 12 noon for the concert.
Check the website www.spiritofthebush.com for more information.
For Canowindra residents, the closest location to secure your wristband is Cowra Woolworths.
They are also available from Orange, Parkes, Forbes, Bathurst and other regional centres.
