CWA to present awards to students as part of Christmas meeting

21 Nov, 2007 07:43 AM
The November meeting of the Canowindra CWA was held at 2.00pm on November 15 in the CWA rooms.

It was opened in the usual manner by singing the National Anthem and reciting the Motto, followed by the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting.

It was announced that Melissa Johnson and Curtis Hughes won a prizes for their posters for International Day in August.

The Secretary is to contact the schools to arrange for the students to attend the CWA Christmas Party on December 13 to receive their certificates.

There was some discussion about having some of the meetings in the summer in the evening, giving some of the young ladies who work during the day a chance to attend.

The Christmas meeting is to be held a week earlier on December 13, so as not to be so close to Christmas.

The meeting will be at 11.00am followed by lunch at 12.30pm.

Lunch will be $10 followed by a raffle of a fruit basket, $1.00 and instead of a lucky dip a donation of $5.00 to the Skate Board Park.

CWA members hope for a good roll up of members.

The next meeting will be February 2008.
