Canowindra businesses have taken out seven of the 21 major categories in this year's Cabonne Daroo Awards, accompanied by a lot of clapping, cheering and good natured inter-town rivalry.
A large contingent of Canowindra business representatives filled the Molong RSL Club to cheer on finalists and congratulate eventual winners from the 2007 event.
And several Canowindra businesses were finalists in the coveted overall title of Best Business in Cabonne, including the Old Vic Inn and the Canowindra Trading
Post.
The title was eventually won by Cudal-based business, Snooze Easy Ice.
Cabonne Mayor John Farr described the event as a fabulous showcase of local businesses and its people.
"It was great to see that the effect on business caused by the five-year drought was certainly not on show!" Cr Farr said.
"Two hundred and thirty people from throughout Cabonne gathered in Molong to celebrate the category finalists and winners for 2007.
"The gala night turned out to be another success, thanks to the Business Enterprise Centre team and the Council staff involved who put such a huge amount of work into the night."
The newest category for 2007 was a Customer Service Award, which attracted 65 nominations and saw a winner from each of the villages of Cabonne.
Canowindra's Nick Jacobs at the Trading Post was one recognised for Excellence in Customer Service, with overall winner, Cheryl Godwin at the Canowindra Swimming Pool and Caravan Park another a popular choice.
Awards organisers extended their congratulations again to all Daroo winners, finalists and especially overall best business Snooze Ezy Ice of Cudal.
