Canowindra P A and H officials are keeping their fingers crossed the equine flu virus emergency will be over by the time this year's show is staged.
To be held at the end of September, spokesperson Graham Rice said her and his committee are "hoping it all blows over" by the time the show is staged in four weeks.
Mr Rice said this was the first year in some time a trotting section was planned to be staged - plans which could be jeopardised by bans.
The NSW Department of Primary Industries stepped in and cancelled the Parkes event on the weekend, even barricading competitors inside the showground.
The presence of horses from Sydney's Centennial Park, one of the DPI's prime areas of concern for the outbreak, sparked the unprecedented quarantine decision.
The upcoming Woodstock and Cowra Shows will escape the complete shut down of Parkes, with only their Equine sections affected.
Canowindra P A and H will make a decision as developments unfold.
