Devastating fire

17 Dec, 2008 08:22 AM
A Canowindra couple were lucky to escape a house fire last Wednesday.

The fire engulfed the Belubula Way home but the male and female occupants were not injured.

The fire seems to have started in the carport and spread throughout most of the house.

The male was taken to hospital as a precaution, because he was suffering from smoke inhalation.

Police are still investigating the circumstances, but not treating the fire as suspicious.

The alarm was raised at 8:45am on Wednesday December 10 when flames started spewing from the carport.

The fire brigade was called as were detectives from Cowra and Orange. Forensic police from Bathurst are still investigating the fire.
