Canowindra's driver reviver service has donated $1000 to Angel Flight.
Driver reviver coordinator Bill Barwood said the group decided to make the donation to Angel Flight because it was a worthy cause supported by volunteer pilots who gave their time and the use of their aircraft freely.
Angel Flight Australia is a charity that co-ordinates non emergency flights for financially and medically needy people. All flights are free and may involve patients or compassionate carers travelling to or from medical facilities anywhere in Australia.
Canowindra's driver reviver service has been operating since Easter 1996 and has served 17,182 people from 6950 vehicles during that time.
The current management committee includes representatives from Rotary, CWA, Red Cross, Masonic Lodge, Billican Productions and Lions.
This Christmas period it will operate on Friday, December 21, Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, January 6.
In previous years the service has donated money to Canowindra High School’s driver education scheme and Angel Flight.
