Role model and sporting star, Jessica Yell of Eugowra has been announced as this year's Youth Ambassador by Cabonne Council.

Jessica, Council's Youth of the Month in May 2005 and one of 11 young high fliers nominated, has been awarded the title of 2006 Youth Ambassador because of her active role in the community and many scholastic and sporting achievements.

Councillor John Farr, Mayor said "Jessica is an outstanding ambassador for Eugowra and Cabonne. She is a great example to other young people - proving that you can achieve your dreams with hard work."

A Year 11 student at Forbes High School in 2005, Jessica has been engaged in numerous community orientated activities throughout the year and is considered a good role model for her peers. She tutors younger youth at the school, has played an instrumental part in the Eugowra Show and is always a participant in the annual Anzac Day parade.

Jessica also achieved State accreditation in 'Operation Art' through Westmead Children's hospital and received the Principal's award in Art, Design & Technology, and English. In addition, She has gained much respect as the Fat Lamb Angels netball team Captain and Coach and has successfully represented Forbes High School in the Open Tennis and in the Open Lawn Bowls.

Jessica's official duty as Youth Ambassador will be to accompany Mayor Farr and Australia Day Ambassadors Ron & Valerie Taylor at the Celebrations in Cumnock, Molong and Eugowra on Thursday, 26th January.
