Cabonne Council has halted its footpath reconstruction in Gaskill St, following a number of criticisms and concerns raised by residents in Canowindra.
CabonneChr(39)s Director of Engineering Services, Bob Wyllie, confirmed the temporary downing of tools while it awaits the results of a survey to be distributed via a letter box drop later this week.
He explained that the decision was made on Tuesday last week, after issues were brought to CouncilChr(39)s attention, primarily via Councillors Jenny Weaver and Don Lawrence.
The long-awaited for footpath reconstruction has been criticised by some community members for its appearance, for its disruption of traffic and parking in Gaskill St, and for the pace of work.
