The National Parks and Wildlife Service in conjunction with Rural Fire Service Volunteers conducted a hazard reduction burn in the Goobang National Park on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 May.
Ranger Andres Bianchi said local residents would see smoke for several days.
"The burn is occurring directly south of the Peak Hill - Baldry Rd on Monday morning from around 10am.
"The road will remain open, but residents should heed the smoke warning signs.
"This hazard reduction will assist in maintaining appropriate fuel levels in a strategic fire advantage zone in the Herveys Range section of the Park."
"NPWS is pleased to have the support of local RFS brigades in conducting the operation," Mr Bianchi said.
