Graduate eyes off vision check

28 May, 2008 09:25 AM
This week is Macular Degeneration Awareness week and pharmacist graduate Lisa Chittick will be available all week to test your eye sight.

Lisa finished her university studies at CSU Wagga last year and as part of her

continued training, she had to do a health promotion activity.

Since it is Macular Degeneration Awareness Week and because people of Canowindra do not often get the chance to see an optometrist, Lisa thought the eye test would be most beneficial to the people in town.

“The test takes less than five minutes. This disease causes people to go blind from the inside of their eye to the outside. If we detect a blind spot or blurry vision we refer onto an optometrist,” Ms Chittick said.

The test is available all week at the Canowindra Pharmacy and is quick and easy and no appointment is necessary.
