Former Canowindra resident Frank Hackett-Jones senior will have his biography launched at taste Canowindra this Anzac Day.
Frank, who passed away in 2000, was the instigator of Marti's Canowindra Balloon Fiesta and his family is well known in the area.
An expatriate Canowindra schoolboy, Frank was the son of a local nurse Marti Hackett-Jones and successful business man Frank Hackett-Jones senior.
Frank a billionaire, founded and funded Marti's Canowindra Balloon Fiesta, hoping the people of the town would carry on the spirit and determination for many years to come, both as a memorial to Frank senior and his mother, Marti.
Frank Hackett-Jones junior commissioned historian Dr Don Chambers in 1983 to pen this biography. Many surviving members of the Hackett-Jones family are expected to travel to Canowindra on April 25 to participate in the launch and help celebrate the enormous contribution that Frank Hackett-Jones made to Canowindra's history. Melvyn Cann former husband of Rosemary Cann (nee -Hackett-Jones), will provide a musical accompaniment to the evenings entertainment.
