A half-price microchipping and vaccination program has been so successful that Cabonne Council has scheduled extra sessions for pet owners.
The services offered at Canowindra and Molong this week were so popular that an additional day will be offered at Canowindra next week and at Molong next month to cater for dog and cat owners who missed out on appointments.
The Council combined with the Molong Veterinary Clinic and the Canowindra branch of the Cowra Veterinary Centre to offer the special $55 deal to both microchip and vaccinate an animal.
If a pet is already vaccinated and the owner wishes to have it microchipped, the cost will be only $25.
The additional sessions will be offered at Canowindra on Monday 27 February 2012 from 2.30pm-4pm and at Molong on Wednesday 21 March 2012 from 9.30am-11.30am.
Free microchip scans will also be available if pet owners want to ensure old microchips are still in working order.
The special offer is for residents of Cabonne Shire only, however there will be no limit on the number of dogs or cats an owner can have micochipped or vaccinated on the day.
Owners will have to book a time slot for each animal to be treated.
Pet owners must produce a current vaccination certificate to take advantage of the $25 microchipping only offer.
All dogs and cats must be on a leash or in a cage.
Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting Cabonne Council on 6392 3247.
