Kits on order for emergency services

17 Dec, 2008 08:27 AM
Red Cross recently launched its latest campaign to address the needs of those likely to be affected by natural disasters with the release of Red Cross Emergency REDiPLAN.

Emergency REDiPLAN is a Red Cross community information program to help people prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies more effectively. REDiPLAN is funded through the First National Foundation.

Cabonne Council has added its support to the RediPlan project and has ordered kits for distribution to Emergency Service contacts in Cabonne.

Mayor of Cabonne, Kevin Duffy said “it is important for Council to promote the availability of the kit to both emergency services and to householders most vulnerable to emergency situations”.

Key to the kit are the four steps to prepare your household with these being; be informed, make a plan, put together an emergency kit and know your neighbours.

Any households wishing to obtain information on REDiPLAN may do so online at http://www.redcross.org.au or by contacting the Dubbo Regional Office of Red Cross on 1800 088 586
