The Canowindra Country Women's Association branch may only just have time to celebrate its 80th birthday in May before having to close its doors forever.
The lack of a treasurer is a rapidly deteriorating issue for the branch, as it faces not one but two special meetings.
Current President Anne Barwood said out of a branch of 31 members, they were yet to decide who would become treasurer.
"I certainly do not blame our previous Treasurer [for not volunteering again]," Mrs Barwood said.
"She had been there for 11 years, so you can understand."
Mrs Barwood believes an aging membership may be a cause of the reluctance, with many members having already volunteered hundreds of hours during their time with the CWA.
"We have 31 members, most of whom are in their 70s and 80s. They want to sit back now and not have to worry about such responsibilities."
Although the branch may find a solution to its Treasurer crisis now, the age factor, Mrs Barwood believes, will continue to be an issue.
She and other executive members' terms of office will be up in October, when the branch may have to go through the same search again.
The long term solution will be more new and younger members, as younger women aren't joining the CWA, she said.
The exact status of the branch is sending her back to rule book, and she has been in contact with Margaret Brown, Group president about the branch's next move.
"We now have to host two special meetings, the first this month, and then another 35 days later," Mrs Barwood said.
"We will just have to take it from there."
The CWA of Australia is the country's largest women's organisation.
It serves in almost every small country town and community across Australia, with a total membership of 35,000 members from 1500 branches.
The CWA is self-funded, non party political and non-sectarian.
