Four Canowindra tourism leaders are challenging themselves to go back to the classroom and learn how to take their business even further.
Fiona Ferguson (Age of Fishes Museum), Sam Statham (Rosnay), Jan Kerr ( Balloon Joy Flights/Toms Waterhole Wines) and Nick Jacobs (The Canowindra Trading Post) are amongst 20 tourism and hospitality businesses from the region making up Group Three of the Cowra Entrepreneur Program (CEP), already underway.
The program provides free training opportunities to further develop an entrepreneurial attitude in the local business community.
“The CEP is about helping business owners and managers to identify and pursue the potential in their business so that they can take it to the next level,” explained Cowra mayor Bill West.
Fifty business people graduated in December from the three Entrepreneur Programs run last year and participants have been very pleased with their involvement.
Group Three of the CEP is focused on tourism and hospitality.
“We have made some changes to the program for this year, increasing the number of workshops and spreading them out across a longer timeframe to allow us to provide more content,” Cr West said.
The program will involve ten more workshops on various business functions from customer service and marketing to financial management and planning.
The Cowra Entrepreneur Program will continue to run in 2010. For more information contact Council’s Cowra Business Officer, Mike Foster on 6340 2000.
