The four tourism businesses from Canowindra named finalists include the Canowindra Trading Post in the category of Specialist Tourist Services, Everview Retreat for two categories in the Deluxe Accommodation and Hosted Accommodation, The Age of Fishes Museum for the Tourist Attraction Category and Toms Waterhole Wines with the category of Tourism Wineries.  

The award submissions were opened on the 21st March and included all of the Inland Regions of NSW including Central NSW, Outback NSW, New England North West and Riverina.

"Tourism plays a vital role in the growth of regional NSW and these awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the business excellence, commitment to customer service and innovation that continues to make this industry a success." He said.

The 2006 Inland Tourism Awards last year showcased two of these businesses as winners. The Canowindra Trading Post won for the category of Tourism Retailing for the second year in a row and Everview Retreat won for New Tourism Development. Runners up for 2006 included Toms Waterhole Wines for category of Cellar Door and The Age of Fishes Museum for Best Regional Attraction.

Celebrating the Rivers, the People, the Outback' 2007 Inland Tourism Awards Presentation Night will be held at Wentworth, Outback NSW on Sunday 29th July featuring Ray Martin as the Master of Ceremonies.
