taste Canowindra celebrates it's first anniversary with the opening of its new wine tasting centre in its soon to be completed building on Saturday November 18th.
From 6pm there will be nibbles and free tastings, with some new special releases from local wineries. Local Canowindra vignerons will be in attendance, with wine appreciation advice and some food matching suggestions.
More than thirty different styles and varieties will be available for tasting.
An Art exhibition - featuring paintings, sculptures, ceramics, furniture, leather, & photography will include works by: Mary Douglas, Christine Lanham, Justine Boland, Nyree Reynolds, Marg Fynan, Ken Hutchinson, David Gough, Peter Lowe, Roland Frenda, Melissa Lazarou, Bob Craven, Rebecca Bennett, Caroline Briggs, Valeska Tilly. Ten percent of the sale price of work sold will go into a fund to create a cash prize for an annual award to accompany this exhibition in ensuing years.
Federal Member for Calare Peter Andren will open the centre at 7pm.
Later in the evening an auction of unique, rare & vertical lines of wine will take place with proceeds to go to the Canowindra Preschool.
Violin duo Holly Durkin & Kerry O'Dea, will add atmosphere at the opening with some classical chamber music. Andrew Wooldridge & Sam Statham plus Nerida Cuddy will entertain
during the evening.
Jo Robson will cater for the evening with platters available for $20, booking is essential.
