The Bendy Street Business Group of Canowindra had its inaugural meeting last Wednesday at the Canowindra Services Club.
Spokesperson Troy Kelly said the meeting was well attended with 16 business owners and representatives present, all eager to hear what the group’s direction was to be.
“Many found it exceptionally refreshing to be able to participate in a group that embraced all businesses in Canowindra and its surrounds and that was dedicated to achieving a result as opposed to a ‘talk fests’,” Mr Kelly said.
Mr Kelly made the presentation to the group, outlining the groups’ proposed meeting protocol, its goals and objectives and most importantly its ethic.
It was then put to the group, via printed sheet to supply for collation, each business’s 10 most important points they would like to see the Bendy Street Business Group address.
“This is not just for those who attended the meeting but for all business in Canowindra and surrounds, so if you would like to contribute, have a think and drop off your ‘Top 10’ to me at Essentially Childs Play by the end of this week,” Mr Kelly said.
“Early suggestions include beautification, signage, festivals, marketing, council monies and much more.”
The groups’ next meeting will be at the Canowindra Services Club at 6.30pm on Thursday, May 29, 2008.
“If you are interested in Canowindra’s economic and social development, get your ideas together and come along.”
