Nine senior students from Dance West Canowindra will be travelling to Horsham, Victoria in April for the Ausdance Youth Dance festival.

The festival is held every second year and dancers from all over the country attend to take classes, watch performances and interact with other dancers.

Jess Duncan and Erin Nash participated in the festival in Armidale in 2004, and said it was one of their best experiences ever.

"It was great for country kids like us who don't have the opportunity to do this kind if thing all the time like city kids do," Jess said.

The festival allows dancers to try different styles of movement that they would not normally have access to.

"Learning different dances was the best part," Jess said.

"I'm really looking forward to meeting new people in Horsham who like to dance like I do."

Cowra Youth Dance group, "Torsion", who recently performed at Taste Canowindra, will be joining the group on the trip to Horsham.

The group is looking for sponsorship or donations from local clubs or businesses to help pay for their trip to Victoria and will be running numerous fundraisers in the upcoming months.

These will include a monster raffle, a car wash and an underage disco.

If any businesses wish to contribute to the trip, please contact Dannelle West on 6344 3114.
