Students show off their star quality

12 Dec, 2007 07:55 AM
Students from Canowindra Public School have been rehearsing for weeks in preparation for the school talent quest on Monday.

Talent quest coordinator Gina Baratto said about 65 students had been involved.

“This year we have a few instrumental solos including drums, piano and guitar, and a lot of dancing and singing,” she said.

“The kids make it all up themselves.”

Five heats have been held, with the two best acts from each heat being put through to the final next week.

Mrs Baratto said students organised their costumes all on their own, and year 5 and 6 students were also helping compere the show.

“It definitely helps their self-esteem and confidence,” she said.

“There are some kids who have private music lessons and this is a great chance for them to show what they’ve been learning.”
