Following taste Canowindra's hugely successful first venture into theatre restaurant, which saw the Nester Lou and Slim Knackers show sell out two weeks before the event, The Brent Parlane & Pat Drummond show will open at taste Canowindra 42 Ferguson st. on Wednesday March 7th before playing a number of venues in Sydney.
Gold Guitar Winner, Brent Parlane originally from New Zealand but now a "new Australian" is back in the saddle again.
After being slowed down for a few years with medical problems, Brent is writing and singing better than ever.
Based in Melbourne, Brent is having his first foray back to Sydney in many a year and is halfway through recording a new album of songs about life, love and all the rest.
Brent's label boss at Shoestring Records, Pat Drummond, who is arranging the tour will be sharing the stage with Brent this time around.
Pat's highly original style of music crosses the genres of country, folk and rock and roll and his musical career spans three decades.
A cross between songwriting and journalism, his well documented songs about real people and places have also earned him a formidable reputation as a songwriter.
These two are old friends who met when Pat was touring nationally with UK singer songwriter, Ralph McTell in 1987 and it is a rare treat to be able to see them both on the same bill, performing together and alone!
"Brent is a great writer whose songs weave simplicity with a certain insightful irony." says Pat
"He has a great sense of humour, which has been a great strength in these last few years, as well as a disarmingly honest approach to relationships and personal history. He has written some great 'social justice' songs as well. I do believe more people should hear his work. They won't be disappointed" says Drummond.
