Teachers make Canowindra home

18 Feb, 2009 08:25 AM
Teachers Tamara Hargraves and Lauren Pengilly and their families have made Canowindra their new home.

Lauren and Tamara both started at Canowindra Public School this year.

Mrs Hargraves teaches Year 1/2 and Mrs Pengilly teaches Kindergarten/Year1.

Tamara has been teaching for the past decade, nine years on the Central Coast and then a year in the Far West at Tibooburra.

“I enjoyed the outback experience and just love it here,” Tamara said.

Lauren started off in Sydney then moved to Dubbo for 10 years.

“It is a bit of a shock going from 700 students to a small school,” she said.

“Everyone is very nice and the students are well mannered,” Lauren said.

Canowindra Public School Principal Eric Toole is pleased two new teachers were appointed to the school this year.

“It is wonderful to have teachers with such a wide range of experience,” Mr Toole said.
