Cabonne Council has recognised its highest achievers with Citizen, Young Citizen and Community Group of the Year awards announced on Australia Day.

Cabonne Council's Mayor, Councillor John Farr, says Australia Day in Cabonne Country is one of his favourite events of the year.

"There are always plenty of fun and games, fantastic, inspirational speakers and its great to see the people who volunteer in their community and who are always thinking of others, being recognised for all their hard work and dedication," said Mr Farr.

Council is pleased to announce the following Australia Day Citizen

awards:

Cudal - Mrs Marion Gosper

Canowindra - Mr Eddie Roberts

Cumnock - Ms Annie McCalman

Manildra - Mr Errol Sullivan

Yeoval - Alf & Sharon Cantrell

Eugowra - Mr Bruce Noble

Molong - Mrs Margaret Starr

Eastern Area (Mullion Creek) - Ms Belinda Fanning.

Cabonne's Young Citizens of the year are Tegan Nicholls of Manildra, Erin Nash of Canowindra, Samuel Evans of Mullion Creek and Branden Dukes of Eugowra.

Community Group of the Year Awards go to the Canowindra SES, Molong Players, Clergate School P & C, Cudal Hospital Redevelopment Committee, Cargo Hall Upgrade Volunteer Group and Manildra & District Improvement Association.
