Thirty three years of working with the community

Tribute to Sandy McDonald

This is to acknowledge, applaud and congratulate Sandra (Sandy) McDonald who retires from nursing duties today, Wednesday 28th March 2007 from the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Canowindra.

Sandy has spent the last 33 years working with and caring for the people of Canowindra and district. Her work with Day Centre when it was held at the Canowindra Services Club stretched over many years and supported many hundreds of people.

Sandy has worked with and inspired people of all ages especially the elderly and the developmentally delayed. There are many people today still living in their own homes with healthier lifestyles that would not be there without the help, encouragement and dedication of Sandy.

The passion and enjoyment that Sandy has for her work is shown by her enthusiasm and commitment in supporting people with their general health and fitness or helping with their rehabilitation. All these years of service have been done with a smile, good cheer and a sense of respect for the people with whom she has comes in contact.

Sandy's genuine desire to make a difference to people's lives in not only shown in her professional approach to her work but her willingness to lead and participate in extra out of hours activities and to help any one at any time. Both of these things are beyond what is normally expected of an employee.

Thank you Sandy for your work and service to people of the community. It will well known that you have enjoyed "doing what you do best". It is hoped that your retirement will be long and happy one.
