Canowindra Vintage Tractors and Machinery Enthusiasts, Show and Tractor Trek 2006.
A big thank you to everyone who helped in any way, from bringing their tractors or engines to helping pull down the fence, bunting, iron posts etc and store them away again for next year; watering the track, to helping our visitors from Cootamundra who brought with them three Masseys and one International AW7.
They had fun on the small sled leaving the bigger tractors to pull the big sled. This showed the power of some of the older tractors.
We had two tractors and drivers who come every year from the ACT, we call them our 'devotees'.
All up we had 22 tractors and one baler on demo and a good number of still engines.
A member arrived from Young with a good display – one Howard Hauler and one Holder tractor.
This year's perpetual Show Cup was won by Roy White with the beautifully restored Farmall, very rarely seen in Australia.
The Cup was presented by Miss 2006 Show Girl.
Second prize trophy was presented to John Rutter for encouragement for his Farmall.
Terri Joyce received a trophy for the oldest tractor which was a 1928 15-30 International.
The Show committee kindly supplies the trophies for this event every year and every owner received a trophy.
The day after the Show is always very popular with our drivers.
This year we drove out of town heating towards Toogong and on to David and Jan Harrison and family's property; also Don Hazelton and Rob Dunkley.
Over the years we have travelled on a lot of beautiful Aussie farms and in different areas each year.
Thanks to them we enjoyed being able to see the beauty and enjoyed the great company.
We had morning tea on the side of the road and lunch at Toogong Cemetery where the Cowra Car Clubbers joined us for a while.
We had helpers again with picking up the BBQ, generators, food etc and doing the cooking – that's what it's all about, having safe fun.
