Surrounded by ecstatic family and friends, Tracy Lamb's smile was more than contagious on Saturday night.
The 2005 Canowindra Showgirl was one of three selected from 25 Zone 6 representatives to attend the upcoming Sydney Royal Easter Show in the last round of competition for the 2006 The Land Sydney Royal Easter Showgirl title.
The bubbly winner was still on cloud nine on Monday, after the excitement of the Parkes announcement.
"It's just an amazing experience," Tracy said.
"I couldn't sleep on Saturday night. You hope that you have a chance, but you do not really know until your name is called out.
"I'm very excited."
Thirty two family and friends joined the Canowindra Showgirl at the Parkes dinner announcement, and were the largest single group of supporters by far at the event.
All shared her joy, including a very proud mum and dad, Anne and Wayne Lamb.
The hard task of picking the three finalists fell into the hands of judges Janene Dwyer representing The Land newspaper; Geoff Bush representing Agricultural Societies Council of NSW and Michael Drenth representing Manchester Unity.
Tracy is looking forward to her time in Sydney, although very appreciative of the busy times ahead.
Showgirl finalists arrive two days before the show starts, with a jam packed schedule of activities and duties, including the official show opening two days later.
Until then Tracy will be preparing and looking forward to representing Canowindra at the show, with the help of stewards Penny Nash and Claudia Wythes.
"I would really like to thank Claudia and Penny for their support and help, and especially thank the 30 odd supporters who made such an effort to be with me in Parkes.
"Thank you to all."
Tracy, representing Canowindra, will join the two other Zone 6 finalists, Jillian Kilby representing Coonamble and Jennifer Clulow representing Bathurst."
Penny Nash, along with the rest of Canowindra, wishes Tracy the best of
luck.
