Canowindra High students have won not one, but three prestigious bursaries in the booming minerals industry.
The Minerals Education Bursary scheme is a program designed to attract and retain senior secondary students' interest in the minerals industry as a possible future career of choice through a co-ordinated program of activities and contact with the industry and stakeholders such as Cadia Valley Operations, Northparkes Mine, universities and AusIMM.
Three students from Canowindra High School have won bursaries for 2006. Leticia Tremain (Year 12), Michael Taylor (Year 12) and Jeremy Martin (Year 11) attended a presentation ceremony for winners of the MEBS 2006.
This ceremony was held on Thursday 24 August at the Orange City Council Chambers.
