Ute winner "encapsulates the Australian way of life"

A winner in the ute competition at the Canowindra Show has gone on to win the Championship at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Matthew Tosolini, who has many relatives and friends in Canowindra and Gooloogong, previously won the B and S Ute competition at the Canowindra Show.

On Saturday, April 15, 2006 he was part of a striking display of 12 utes that powered onto the Royal Easter Show's NAB Arena to vie for the title of Best of the Best in the Beaut Ute Competition.

Matthew came up trumps with his hotted up 1996 Holden Ute.

Adorned with stickers from all over Australia including My ute, my country proudly placed on the roll bar, the Royal Agricultural Society says this incredible machine encapsulates the Australian way of life in the bush and its place as a national icon.

This year's Beaut Ute Competition was the first time this popular competition has come to the Royal Easter Show.
