What's the result when you cross Hamlet and ABBA?

03 Mar, 2010 07:40 AM
A band of Canowindra children are busy rehearsing for the latest production from Bean Shed Productions.

The children have been delighting Canowindra audiences for a number of years and are currently in the middle of seven weeks of rehearsals which will result in their own special take on Hamlet at the Canowindra High School Hall in late March.

The children are rehearsing on Friday afternoons at the Canowindra Services Club auditorium and as show time approaches will be spending weekends putting the final touches to their performances.

Shows will be held on March 27 at 6pm, Sunday, March 28 at 11am and on Monday and Tuesday, March 29 and 30.

The Monday and Tuesday performances at 10am are special shows for local school children to attend.

Cost is just a gold coin donation which helps the group pay for costumes and sets.

The latest production, a modern take on Hamlet, was written by Helen Geiger and is performed to hits from bands that include ABBA, given the play appeal to audiences of all ages.
