Battle of the pink stumps

25 Jan, 2012 09:20 AM
This year Canowindra Cricket Club will take on the Canowindra Tigers Rugby League Club in what is sure to be a grudge match.

The day will also be an official Jane McGrath Foundation fundraising day with all money raised going towards this great cause.

Confidence is high among the cricket club after strong performances and big wins in the last two weeks in Cowra’s Twenty20 competition.

Meanwhile the Tigers, in particular captain Sam O’Malveney and Damien Kennedy, are quietly confident of beating the cricket boys at their own game.

The game is due to start at about 10.30am on Thursday so all players are asked to arrive around 10am to help set up for the day and warm up for the big match.

All are welcome to come and watch what should be a great game with plenty of fun and laughs.

Plenty of food and drink will be available and raffles will also be held to raise more money for this great breast cancer care charity.

Australia Day Twenty20 rivalry will be on show so if you have a free morning get yourself to the oval and enjoy what should be a great day.
