Luke Chalker attempted a last over flurry before retirement but only succeeded in hearing the stumps rattle behind him as George Carroll bowled him, 6-52.
In a depleted side this left the Brad Jones and Brad Wright left to bat [ with Ben Wilkinson to come back in when one got out].
However the two Brad's lasted the 27 overs as Brad Wright opened his shoulders and was not out on 21 while Brad Jones was not out 3 in the support role.
This left Canowindra, P. & A Dawes, with 96 needed for victory and Rohan Toole and Pete McNamara set for the task.
Luke Chalker and Pete's Cowra cousin, Nick Wilkinson, opened the bowling in a minor 'family feud' but Rohan and Pete were solid under pressure as they scored runs fairly freely before Pete retired in the sixth over on 9[ 1 four] and Rohan in the next over on 15 [2 fours].
Alex Willson and Tim Middleton came to the wicket with confidence high, but in a devastating display of bowling Bede Leyland made up for his duck as he bowled Tim Middleton, Bailey Cain and Alex Willson in consecutive overs and took the score to 3-45, which caused some tremors in the spectators on the 'hill'. [ Bede was on a hat trick as he took a wicket off the last ball of his second over and the first ball of his third and final over]
However Canowindra took a few deep breaths and concentrated a little more and began the fight back.
Two fours from Bradyn steadied the ship before he departed caught Ben Wilkinson from Ben Watt's bowling, which brought George Carroll out to join Harry Whatman at the crease.
Both were content with the singles to keep turning the strike over as they got their eye in before they lashed out in their final overs.
Harry smashed a four to the boundary before he retired on 14 while George hit three fours and an unusual 5 before he retired on 24.
Jack Beath and Robert Maroney were given the task on scoring the winning runs but Jack was tragically run out going for the winning run so Stewart Russell and Robert had the honour of taking Canowindra past the 95 needed.
So with cheers all around in the Canowindra area the Under 12s remained undefeated all season and showed courage in coming back from an unusual mini collapse.
Alex Willson capped a successful season as he was announced as the Under 12 player of the season at presentation after the final.
A huge vote of thanks goes to Ken McNamara who has definitely earnt the title 'Supercoach' for all his guidance and coaching over the summer.
Thanks also goes to Anthony Clarke who stood out in the heat as the main, neutral umpire for the final.
