Saturday at The Oval Canowindra Services won the toss and sent Bowling Club into bat where Cody Brooks and Brad Leach opened the batting.

They scored freely and took the score to 21 before Brad Leach skyed a ball to Alex Willson who caught him, off Nick Traves’ bowling, for 5 runs.

Russell Hill joined Cody until Cody was out for 16, caught Nick Willson off Jamie Bennett’s bowling.

Russell was next to go caught and bowled Blake Willson but the score had progressed to 46.

Alex Cassidy went next ball caught Harry Whatman off Blake’s bowling for 12 and Blake was on a hat trick.

Nathan Leach evaded the hat trick ball, and the next two deliveries, which gave Blake a two-wicket-maiden over.

Josh Carter combined with Nathan Leach and took the score to 71 before Josh retired and Nathan was bowled by a swinging delivery from Nick Willson for 6.

Kane Brooks played on to a Kain Earsman ball and Bowling Club’s sixth wicket fell with the score on 71.

Phil Braithwaite combine with Josh back from retirement and took the innings on to 109 where Josh passed his 30 and retired permanently which left Phil not out on 6, as Bowling Club only had eight players.

Canowindra Services started brightly with Nick Traves and Nick Willson running well between the wickets until a direct hit on the top of the stumps saw Nick Willson just short of his ground and run out for 10.

Twin brother Blake joined Nick Traves at the crease and Blake opened with a four followed by four singles as he began to get his eye in.

Nick retired on 11 after his eight overs while Jamie Bennett joined Blake and they continued to chase the needed runs.

Blake retired on 28 after one memorable six and three more fours.

Kain Earsman scored one before he was caught by Brad Leach for 1 while Matt Beaton was bowled by Russell Hill five runs later with the score on 66.

Simon Whatman went for 2, bowled Russell in his next over and Services were 4 – 75.

James Russell made ten with two superb fours before he retired and Harry Myers retired soon after also on 10.

Harry Whatman and Alex Willson took the score to 113 with Alex not out on 11 and Harry not out on 3.

Congratulations to both teams for the spirit the game was played in as both teams scored the runs in about twenty overs.
