Suburbs take out 2009 title

28 Jan, 2009 08:22 AM
Tom Clyburn Oval was the place to be on Australia Day and proved to be much more exciting then the international cricket.

Canowindra cricket clubs much anticipated twenty20 match lived up to its prematch hype. 'Town' or CBD as they became known scored 9 for 142 and looked to have the game won until Brett Traves smashed 28 off only 11 deliveries in the final two overs to get the 'Suburbs' home by one wicket with two balls to spare.

As some revenge Tim Kennedy cleaned bowled Traves with the last delivery.

The day was played in good spirit and enjoyed by all.
