Olympic 4 Stallions 0

Stallions all played an excellent game and there was excellent playing between our forwards. Becky, Alison and Lucy. Defence was tight, looking forward to a great season.

A hard won victory today for Olympic.

Don't be fooled by the one-side scoreline.

The Stallions fought to the end and made us fight all the   way for the win. It was scoreless at halftime, which was testament to the Stallions superb defence, frustrating our forwards.

Eventually in the second half the goals came, with clinical finishes from the goal machines, Brad Jones and Bede Leyland.

This is a new team, full of experience and younger players. I want to congratulate Chloe, Ainslie, Tara, Jayden and Syke for all their hard work in the opening two games. They are new to the side but have slotted straight back in. Well done also to Jake Slavin, who played with us a few seasons back. He is bigger, fitter and hungrier than ever. Brad Wright was a usual a rock in defence. Sam Brown has enjoyed a run up front.  

However I must comment on the vast improvement that left-back Tom Nobes has made this season. A great start to the year Tom ! Player of the week went to Brad Jones. Should be a great season Olympic.

Stallions: Wow! What a game! We started off with only ten players, but what a ten we have! Clare Davis and Zac Mieskiewicz pushed themselves all day. Lachie Clulow, Montana Bryant and Eddie O'Ryan, well what more needs to be said? Nicole Stevenson was great in the first half in goal. Taryn Robinson and Ali Beath never stopped and gave their all. Then to the sisters, well what a game they had! I am so proud of you all! See ya Thursday!

UNDER 16'S

Strikers (7) def Wolves (1)

Wolves: Good game where the score doesn't reflect the game. Ten players always makes it a hard task. Excellent defence and shots on goal by Belinda Burn and Cam Bennett against a significant deficit shows how well we stood up to the onslaught of the full team. Great opportunity to learn skills.
