Canowindra sports oval upgrade

12 Nov, 2008 09:28 AM
The main playing field at Canowindra sports oval has received some much needed maintenance. On Saturday the oval was aggravated (cored or aerated). The Coring of the ground breaks up compaction allowing irrigation water to easily soak into the ground ,the aeration also stimulates and promotes plant growth.

Further fertilizer spreading is scheduled in the weeks to come.

The maintenance work has been sponsored by ‘Turf the Lot’ and ‘Canowindra Services Club-the club that gives you more’. All sporting clubs are grateful for this support.

The Canowindra sports trust would advise all sports clubs, sporting bodies and social users that the Main playing field is now closed for approximately eight weeks. Could all recreation take place on the top fields until the main oval is suitable for play again.
