Skiing behind Parkes boat ASM Racing (with Richard Draper and Ray Knights as boat crew), Jess and 'Stump' competed in the Under 16 boys class.

Skiing against some of the fastest Under 16 boys in NSW, the crew was exceptionally pleased with their effort.

Brendan is only 13-years-old and so was racing against much older competitors, and 15-year-old Jessica was the only girl in the class.

After a missed start, the pair raced consistently and came in fourth place, in a time of 82:50.

As training for the major river events, Jessica and Brendan ski together behind ASM at Country Challenge Series events.

The Tidswell family made a return to racing last season, with old boat Top Image.

Mid-way through the season, they upgraded to a new vessel, Nothin 2 Serious.

Other local competitors to fare well at the Sydney Bridge to Bridge included the Ring of Fire crew and the Nothin 2 Serious crew.

Ring of Fire earned second place in the largest 'Country' class in years.

Boat crew of Bill and Libby Brien towed Jason Temple and Rory Brien to second place in a time of 52.32.

To qualify for Country class, all competitors in the team must reside outside of metropolitan areas.

Nothin 2 Serious (David and Vi Tidswell) towed daughter Melissa in the Under 19 girls, with Cassandra Taylor (Victoria).

Skiing against current World, Australian and State champions, the Nothin 2 Serious crew were very happy with their fourth place in a time of 63:41.

The next event for competitors is the Australian Speed and Marathon Championships in Jindabyne in January.
