All is ready at last for the 2010 Canowindra squash championships, and we are excited!
After 12 months build up of hectic bone crunching games, fierce competition, blood, sweat and tears and the occasional friendly rivalry, the stage is set for the big, fun finale.
Preliminary games started on Monday for the ladies, and open and grades on Thursday.
Masters and juniors play on the weekend.
The championships dinner is at the Bowling Club starting at 6.30pm for dinner at 7.00pm.
We welcome back as a sponsor the Canowindra Services Club, and are very grateful to our major sponsor Nassau Estate, Mr Charles Curran, who has supported us for many years, and to swinging bridge and Goree Park wines also.
For the past few weeks the closeness of game scores has been surprising but in the nicest possible way.
The harmony and goodwill makes this a great little club to be a part of.
Upgrading doesn’t happen often as we all coast along, but this competition three players were outstanding – Anthony Attard rose from B Grade to A Grade and Helen McSpadden and Peta Laurie went from C Grade to B Grade.
Well done people.
Recent game scores are:
Tim Smith 46 lost to Troy Loud 62.
Karen Stone 58 defeated Jo Bell 56.
Don Percival 56 narrowly lost to Helen McSpadden 58.
Mark Adams 70 was defeated by Amber Meurs 76.
Roxanne Breen 46 lost to Cassie Bennett 55.
Sue Johnson 64 defeated Jacque Kinsella 59.
Adam Herman 54 defeated Dave Sargent 49.

So all is in place, let the championships begin.
Remember it’s not all about winning! (Yeah mum).
