Brian McClintock win 18 hole stableford for Scifleet Trophy

14 Dec, 2011 07:55 AM
Last Sunday we played a 18 hole stableford for the Gary and June Scifleet trophy. Gary and June have been very good supporters of the club and its great to see them continue with there sponsorship.

A very good field of 28 starters competed in this event and even though the weather wasn’t the best the scores were very hot.

The winner on the day was Brian McClintock who amassed a huge score of 43 points.

Good to see Brian find form and I hope it continues from now on.

Runner up, also with 43 points, was Craig Carpenter.

This round continues his run of good form of late.

It appears that his recent engagement has bought the best out in him.

The shot of the day must go to Brian Moon who on the fourth hole got a hole in one. Well done Brian and that’s the first hole in one for the club for a long time.

In other results for the weekend.

The annual junior classic was held at Wentworth Golf Club in Orange.

Canowindra had two representatives and it pleases me to tell you that both boys played extremely well with Jake Devlin taking out the overall scratch score and Jamie Grant taking out the scratch score in his age division.

The Friday night comp concludes this week and it seems that Doug Flannery’s side has all but wrapped it up with a eleven shot lead to the nearest other team.

Next week we play a 18 hole 2 person ambrose for the Essential Energy trophy
