On the best weather day that we have had for a long while last Sunday we played for the Cowra Pro Shop trophy sponsored by Steve Cain.

With a good field of 28 players the scores were really hot.

Number one player with a terrific score of 73 off the bat nett 61 was Mat McLean. To my knowledge this was Mat’s best competition round that he has recorded. Runner up was another good junior being Jamie Grant who shot 97 off the stick nett 63. The juniors have really shown how the game is played today and its great to see them playing so well. Third place went to Ned Grant who also shot a great round of 73 off the stick nett 67.

Next weekend we will be playing for the Gary and June Scifleet trophy which will be a 18 hole stableford event.

The matchplay games have started to roll on with a number of matches being played last Sunday.

Finally Luigi has raised his ugly head with a response from him last week in the bowls news. One would think that he really doesn’t know who is dealing with by insinuating that our man Michael would end up having a stint on the hill.

Now I know Luigi pretty well and I think that we could send a couple of our young juniors around to his place and that would be enough to send him back into hiding for another six months.
